Momma is a word you only say when your MAD!

My child's first word was dadda and that was fine with me, I was just happy when I heard his precious little voice say anything. However, it's been months now since he has started saying little words and I'm very distraught about Brody saying Momma. The only time my precious little wild monkey says Momma is when he is mad at me. It never fails when I take something from his little paws that he shouldn't be touching in the first place he screams Momma. Hey I was happy to get that, but I want him to say Momma through the grocery store like he does his Dadda! Oh well I guess one day he will say it when he is happy!

I'm up to my ears in poop! LITERALLY

I know this is a really sick post, but I just couldn't resist! All you Mamma's can relate to this I'm sure. Today has been a day of poop. I swear I have changed 4 poopy diapers, but it feels more like a thousand. The last one tops them all! Brody had poop all the way up to his ears! It was the grossest thing I have ever encountered in my entire life. I just didn't know where to start cleaning him and of course he didn't want to hold still. After wrestling with him we both were covered and had to have a shower, so needless to say I just hosed him off and prayed that he didn't get it on anything in the living room. Oh the joys of parenthood!

Brody's 11 month's the count down is on to the big 1

Well that is right Brody is officially 11 month's old and the count down is on to the big # 1! I think I'm more excited than anyone because my baby is turning one. Although, I will probably cry my eyes out on that day LOL. Well lets see since my last post Brody is now walking. I thought he would be one of those kids that when they started walking they would run, but he has done really good. He is very cautious when he leaves the rug and starts onto the hardwood. I say he looks like my little penguin. I'm really debating whether or not to take his bottle from him when he turns one, I probably will let him keep it just a few months longer. Not much more has changed, just the walking and little bit more talking. I will keep you posted on the big birthday bash for my little man!

Brody's day in the snow

So it finally snowed and my little man could not have been happier! When we open the garage door his little face lite up. He was the cutest thing just watching his reaction as the snow was falling on his face. I had him so bundled up he could hardly walk and in fact he did fall over and eat snow on one occasion.

These moments are priceless and I'm so thankful I have these moments with my little boy. He is growing so fast and I just want to slow time so I can have him this way just a little longer.

So Long 2008..... Hello 2009 and to Change...

So the past few months have been a really weird time in my life! As many of you already know we were going to have another baby and we lost it. At first I was like o.k. I just want to move on and forget about this, but now the pain of seeing other girls at my work I was pregnant with find out what they are having has been a little hard. I have been thinking about what I would have had this time and find myself rubbing my belly as if it is still there. I know that I will have a baby again if it's Gods will, but I really wish that I was already pregnant. Casey said the other night to me, that he knows it's killing me not being pregnant. That is really funny considering I said I would never do it again when I was pregnant with Monkey LOL. Things change and so do people and I really have changed so much. I know the next time I get pregnant I will not take for granted the miracle that is happening and I will treasure each moment of vomit, nausea, and pain that comes with it LOL!!!

My 10 month old

Well Brody is 10 months old now and let me tell you they say terrible two's, but it has come early with him. I've always had a feeling he was going to keep me on my toes, but I never would've thought it could be this crazy. He is learning to walk and can cruise anywhere by himself as long as he has something to hold too. If he can't walk then he crawls and let me tell you if there was an award for the fastest crawler he would definitely win. He has 4 teeth and looks like a little boy instead of a baby now when he smiles. Toys are his thing and he makes the biggest mess with all of them. At the end of the day you can't step in the living room because everyone of the toys are out of the toy box. If you even attempt to put them away the child has a fit and pulls them all back out. This doesn't bother me, but Dada is a different story. Casey has really had to adjust his OCD with house being spotless, because with Brody you might as well give it up. We are having so much fun with him right now and can't wait to see what happens next...

My Dad's Last Lecture!

So I finished my book The Last Lecture! I have to say that I loved this book and the entire concept this man had on life. I believe I cried all the way through, just thinking that the entire time this man is writing this book he was dying. I couldn't help but relate my Dad's death with this book. My dad was given just a few months to live and he kept this secret to himself. I have thought so many times how my dad felt when he was told. Was he screaming inside or was he just ready to go! My dad spared all of us the hurt and agony in knowing he was dying. He knew we couldn't handle it and so he kept his death sentence to himself. I was angry when I found out that I was not told! I haven't ever told anyone that, but I was so angry! I could have just spent a little bit more time at home. I could have held his hand a little bit longer. I could have taken off work and spent my time with him. So many thoughts have went through my head that I would have done different. However, that is not what my Dad wanted. He never once had a negative thing to say about what he was going through. Everyday when I talked to him, he could feel I was worrying and not once did he let me know that he was in pain. He was so strong and he was protecting me. He did this all of my life and I love him so much for this. I recently came across a journal entry I wrote after my dad called me one afternoon to tell me he wouldn't be continuing with his treatments. I remember just feeling sick and hurt by what was happening in my life. I just couldn't imagine my life without him. He was always the one I could talk to, he knew the answers to everything.
When the day finally came upon us where all the hope that we had of him coming home faded away, I wanted to die with my dad. I will never forget the sound of my dad taking his last breathe and the pain that over took me at that moment! I find it ironic though, because he was there when I was born holding my hands, and I was there with him holding his hands as he made his way to heaven. He wants me to be happy and he has given me the most precious gift ever. I see my daddy in Brody all the time. When he smiles so big and his little cheeks fill up his face, my dad is giving me that just to help me get through.
I'm so thankful for this book. it has made me appreciate my time and memories with my little Daddy and I love him more and more each day! He truly is one of the greatest people that has been in my life! I'm blessed to have him!
